The Warwick Children’s Book Festival was held Saturday, September 28th, 2013 from 11am – 4pm at the Park Avenue School in Warwick, NY. Presented by the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation and avid Library supporters Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes, with additional generous sponsorship from Donna Applegate and Jonah Mandelbaum, the Village of Warwick, ShopRite, Park Avenue School and an anonymous donor.
Oblong Books & Music of Millerton, NY and Rhinebeck, NY was the bookseller for the Festival. Please visit Oblong’s website here:
In addition to visiting with almost fifty authors and illustrators, children and their guests enjoyed tapping their toes at a concert by the ever-popular Uncle Brothers, juggling with Flow Circus, being creative making Hedgehog characters with recycled books, and listening to Storytime while munching on healthy snacks provided by the Library’s Friends. Teen volunteers offered face painting and balloon animals for children, and for aspiring writers, K.L. Going, author of the hit young adult novel “Fat Kid Rules the World,” gave a presentation on being an author and book publishing.
Free and open to the public, the Festival benefited Albert Wisner Public Library. Following is the list of distinguished authors and illustrators who attended; click here to read about them and their works.
