MIKE CICCOTELLO is the author-illustrator of the picture books TWINS, BEACH TOYS VS. SCHOOL SUPPLIES, LEONARD BUILDS A HAUNTED HOUSE, LEONARD GROWS A HAUNTED GARDEN, forthcoming CLIP & LULU (FSG/Macmillan), as well as the upcoming LION LOOKS (Holiday House). He is also the illustrator of Bridget Heos’s TREEMENDOUS and her SCIENCE BUDDIES series (Crown/Penguin Random House), as well as CROC & GATOR, a chapter-book written by Lisa Katzenberger (Pixel+Ink). Mike is the host of DRAW WITH MR. MIKE™, a drawing show for children, and he is also a member of SCBWI and the Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature (RUCCL). He lives with his wife and twin boys in New Jersey.
Leonard Grows a Haunted Garden
Leonard the cheerful, can-do ghost is growing his family a garden. The other ghosts want it to be the scariest garden EVER! But the more Leonard sows, the less creepy their new garden seems. He plants flowers that are pretty instead of putrid, and installs bird feeders instead of bat boxes. Has Leonard made a grave mistake? Or will this botanical surprise blossom into a spook-tacular delight?
